Silvia Li is a photographer and curator based in China. She graduated in Photography from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna, Italy, in 2018, where her studies were shaped by a cross-disciplinary approach to visual culture, materiality and image-making. Prior to returning to China, she worked as a freelance photographer in Milan, gaining professional experience alongside her independent artistic practice.

Her work centres on the exploration of individual perception, emotion and memory, particularly as they are shaped by differing cultural, social and personal contexts. Through photography, Li investigates how everyday moments and subtle details can become sites of reflection, revealing both difference and commonality within lived experience. Her visual language is characterised by a quiet, observational sensibility, often engaging with themes of identity, intimacy and the transient nature of beauty.

In parallel with her artistic practice, Li is also active as a curator. She has participated in curatorial projects and exhibitions in China, working within photography festivals and collaborative platforms. Her curatorial interests focus on emerging photographic practices, female perspectives and the dialogue between personal narratives and broader cultural frameworks.

Li’s work has been exhibited at international photography festivals and institutions in China, Europe and the UK, including the Pingyao International Photography Festival, Lishui International Photography Festival, Beijing International Photography Week, and the Look Photo Biennial in Liverpool. In 2019, she was awarded the Excellent Curator Award at the Lishui International Photography Festival.
